Why patients look for a female dentist

If you have searched for a female dentist near Brick, you usually have a reason. Some patients simply feel more at ease with a woman. Some are booking for a daughter and want her first dental memories to be gentle ones. Some have had a rushed or dismissive experience before and want someone who listens. At this practice, both dentists are women, so that preference is met from the moment you walk in.

Dr. Monica Patel and Dr. Rakhee Patel run the office together about 10 minutes south of Brick. Their approach is the same one many patients are searching for when they specify a woman: listen first, explain clearly, and recommend only what you actually need. No lectures about the gap since your last visit. No clipboard full of add-ons.

What your first visit feels like

Your appointment opens with a conversation, not a drill. The doctors ask what brought you in and what worries you before they look at your teeth. A gentle exam and digital X-rays follow, and then they walk you through what they see in plain language, sorting it into what is urgent, what can wait, and what is optional.

For nervous patients, that pace matters more than anything. Treatment moves only as fast as you are comfortable with, and sedation options are available if you want a calmer experience for longer work. The minimally invasive approach preserves healthy tooth structure whenever possible, so you keep more of your natural tooth.

Meet your Brick-area female dentists

Doctor Rakhee and Monica

“I believe dentistry should feel calm, clear, and deeply personal. For many people, even making the appointment is the hardest part.” That is how Dr. Monica Patel describes her approach, and it is why anxious patients tend to settle in quickly. Born and raised in New Jersey, she earned her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed a general practice residency at Stony Brook.

Dr. Rakhee Patel puts it simply: “I love helping patients feel confident in their smiles, but just as importantly, I want them to feel comfortable in the process.” She earned her DMD from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, where she was named Best Dental Student of the Year, and trained at Lutheran Medical Center. Both are members of the American Dental Association and the New Jersey Dental Association, and both pursue advanced continuing education through the Pankey Institute and Spear Education.

Getting here from Brick

From central Brick, take Route 70 east toward Toms River, then merge onto Hooper Avenue heading south. Stay on Hooper past the Ocean County Mall and toward downtown Toms River, then turn onto Oak Avenue. The office is at 222 Oak Avenue, Suite 8, with parking on site.

Coming from the Greenbriar or Laurelton side of town, you can pick up Hooper Avenue directly and follow it south the whole way. The trip runs about 10 minutes and roughly 6 miles. If you reach the downtown Toms River blocks, you have gone slightly too far, so watch for the Oak Avenue turn.

Toms River Dentistry

Is this practice right for you?

This office fits Brick residents who want a woman dentist and an unhurried, honest experience over a high-volume one. Families work well here because the same two dentists cover a child's first cleaning, a teenager's Invisalign, and a parent's overdue implant. Anxious adults who have avoided care for years are genuinely welcome.

If you want the cheapest cleaning with no conversation, a larger chain may suit you. If you want two female dentists who remember your name and your history, the short drive south is worth it.

Cost, insurance, and getting started

The practice accepts most major dental insurance plans and files them for you. For Brick patients without coverage, a $189 new patient special covers a complete exam, X-rays, and a healthy mouth cleaning when no periodontal disease is present.

Treatment that insurance does not cover can be financed in monthly payments, and an in-house Friends and Family Membership Plan lowers the cost of preventive and restorative care year-round.

Brick patient questions

Are both dentists at the practice women?

A: Yes. Dr. Monica Patel and Dr. Rakhee Patel are both female dentists, and they own and run the practice together. If you are specifically looking for a woman dentist near Brick, you will see one at every visit.

I want a female dentist for my daughter's first visit. Is the office good with kids?

A: Yes. Both dentists handle children's cleanings and preventive care with a gentle, unhurried approach, which makes early visits less intimidating. Many Brick families book parents and children together to make the short trip down Route 70 count for everyone.

I have searched “female dentist in Brick” and local offices are booked out. Is the drive to Toms River worth it?

A: Brick is the largest town in the area, so local practices fill up and new-patient waits stretch out. The drive south is about 10 minutes via Route 70, and the office welcomes new patients every week, which often means a sooner appointment than you would get closer to home.

I get very anxious at the dentist. How is this practice different?

A: The office was built around anxious and overdue patients, so you will get no lectures and no judgment. The doctors move at a pace you set and explain each step before they begin. Sedation options are available if you want a more relaxed experience for longer treatment.

Do you accept my insurance, and what if I do not have any?

A: The practice accepts most major dental insurance plans and files the claims for you. Without coverage, the $189 new patient special covers a complete exam, X-rays, and a healthy mouth cleaning when no periodontal disease is present, and a membership plan plus financing keep ongoing care affordable.
